DC League of Super-Pets 2: Planning an Animated Movie Sequel?

“DC League of Super-Pets” thrills moviegoers from July 28, 2022. But what about a sequel?

DC League of Super-Pets is the big screen fun of summer 2022. With a mix of superheroes, pets and famous voice actors, little can go wrong. In the animated film, viewers accompany the dog Krypto (originally voiced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson), who, as the name suggests, is the pet of Superman (John Krasinski). Like his master, Krypto has superpowers and must use them after capturing the villain Lex Luthor (Marc Maron), Superman and the other members of the Justice League. Fortunately, Krypto doesn’t have to face the task alone and gets help from the League of Super-Pets. These include Ace the dog (Kevin Hart), PB the pig (Vanessa Bayer), Chip the squirrel (Diego Luna) and Merton the turtle (Natasha Lyonne), who also have superpowers. With stars like comedians Torsten Sträter or Tahnee, both inspired in “LOL: Last One Laughing”, the German dub is also impressive. But what about a potential ‘DC League of Super-Pets 2’ sequel?

DC League of Super-Pets 2: Sequel hinted at in post-credits scene?

Shortly after the official release of the animated film in theaters, nothing is known about the possible sequel “DC League of Super-Pets 2”. Without revealing too much information from the film, the following applies to all viewers after the finale: stay seated! As usual with comic book movies, two more scenes follow – one in the middle of the credits and one after. Either scene can definitely be interpreted as hinting at a sequel.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for “DC League of Super-Pets”

Superman and Krypto reunite and encounter Black Adam and his dog Anubis. A conversation ensues in which Krypto Black calls Adam evil and challenges him that he can’t fly to the planet Pluto, which he in turn promptly tries to prove. The funny thing about the scene? Krypto, Anubis and Black Adam are voiced by Dwayne Johnson. Will there be a clash between the two superheroes and superbeasts in the second part? It could also just be a nod to the Black Adam movie starring The Rock. “Black Adam” is scheduled to hit German theaters on October 20, 2022.
