According to F5’s Strategic State of Application 2022 Report, the Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated migration to the cloud. Three-quarters of companies deploy applications in public cloud environments. With adoption growing, more than 25 percent of organizations also host security and application delivery services in the cloud. Developers, cloud architects, system architects, and other professionals who want to run their applications on Azure need an easy cloud migration path. They also need fast, continuous delivery of secure digital services at scale and consistent application performance between on-premises and cloud environments.

According to F5, NGINX for Azure meets these requirements as follows:

  • seamlessly migrate on-premises applications to the cloud by taking over your existing NGINX configuration,
  • advanced traffic management capabilities to deliver secure and reliable applications and services;
  • Simplify cloud adoption with deep integrations: Azure Monitor for application visibility and insights and Azure Key Vault for SSL/TLS certificate management.

By using the same load balancing solution for their on-premises and Azure applications, companies will achieve consistent performance and security.

“NGINX powers the world’s busiest websites with a suite of advanced connectivity, traffic management and security solutions that add value to the Microsoft Azure ecosystem,” said Eric Braun, Vice President, NGINX Product Management, Q5. “The combination of Microsoft’s Trusted Cloud and NGINX’s trusted software as a service in Azure enables developers and DevOps teams to optimize the performance, reliability and security of their distributed applications and services globally.”

“Development teams are constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible with their innovations. With a fully configured, secure and cloud-hosted environment, they can implement any project in minutes, helping them achieve their business goals faster,” said Julia Liuson, president of Microsoft’s developer division. “Our partnership with F5 makes it easier for application developers, IT operators and service operations teams to respond more quickly to their customers by providing NGINX networking capabilities natively in Microsoft Azure. This allows them to develop their applications with improved performance, reliability and security.”

NGINX for Azure is available in public preview on the Azure Marketplace.
